Ala Aranda nke Achịcha, Mmanya na Nwa Atụrụ

Throughout the month of June, the Burgos town of Aranda de Suero will celebrate gastronomic days around the suckling pig.

This is already the Sixteenth edition of the Gastronomic Days of Roasted Lamb, that celebrates the town of Aranda de Duero in combination with one of its best products for pairing, the Ribera del Duero Wine.

Months ago we already mentioned some celebrations around the youngest bovine, in Castilian lands, such as the gastronomic days of the lamb in Zamora and Valladolid, but now it’s Burgos’ turn.

For the occasion, nine hospitality establishments in the municipality have joined the celebrations, and are already heating the wood in their ovens, to be able to offer the visitor throughout the month of June, an excellent combination of seasonal products, the traditional lamb roasted and of course, the local wine.

The special menus that will be prepared by the asadores assigned to the event, such as El 51 del Sol, Casa Florencio, El Ciprés, Montermoso, Lagar de Isilla, Aitana and Mesones del Pastor, de la Villa and el Roble, are set at the single price per person. of 37 euros and its content will vary depending on the establishment.

Those if everyone will roast the so-called suckling lamb, which is nothing more than suckling lamb, fed only with the mother’s milk of the ewe for the first 15 days of life, before slaughter, which gives the meat a special full texture flavor and nutritionally very healthy.

The motto of these conferences is “Aranda tastes like … suckling pig and wine”, and it seeks to promote the local hospitality activity, as well as the tourism of the town, so fashionable in these times under the protection of the wineries.

The conferences are promoted by the Association of Hoteliers of Aranda y la Ribera (ASOHAR), and as sponsors are the town hall of the town of Aranda de Duero and the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero.

To complete the list of collaborators, the local brands of Lechuga de Medina and Torta de Aranda, will provide the best accompaniments at the table to the excellent lamb that will be made in the ovens of the aforementioned restaurants.

Aranda, Castellana and good food.

Burgos is the land of Castile, and in the gorges and ditches that the river Duero irrigates, a population settled centuries ago that well knew what they could ask of the land and the countryside to feed their cattle and thus obtain an excellent raw material that today we taste.

Aranda is one of those towns that you visit for tourism, to be able to feel the pleasure of eating in its grills and restaurants, its meat, the garden and the Wine make this ideal trinomial possible to serve the topic that concerns us today. Roasted lamb, with water, salt and a little butter …

Its gastronomy is not complex at all, it is really spartan, but no less delicious, in its pantries we find the basic ingredients to prepare and accompany the barbecue, such as oil cake, in its fields lettuce grows, which gives freshness and It reduces the fat effect in the mouth, which produces the roast of the meat in the clay pot where it is made. And since it could not be missing in a good table, the drink par excellence for the pairing of Lechazo is the wine produced by the Vine of its fields, the Tinto de la Ribera del Duero.

Other values that contribute and elevate the Asado to the altars are the portions of lamb trotters or sweetbreads that we can surely taste in the aforementioned restaurants, below we leave you a link to the website of the roasted lamb from Aranda, where you can meet with more detail its location in the municipality and the menus they have prepared.
